The origins of Reiki…
Usui Mikao Sensei received the gift of Reiki on Mount Kurama, Japan in 1922 after a spiritual fast. It is an intuitive healing process with spiritual roots. Hand placement positions developed overtime to help students flow Reiki to all parts of the body. As you learn more about Reiki you will discover techniques and traditions which have been introduced within the healing system. Each Reiki class has a slightly different flavor which is a reflection of the Reiki lineage itself and the teacher’s foundation. It is the techniques and influences taught in the Reiki classes that create distinction. Seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Reiki Master teacher is important. Find one that resonates energetically with you.
When you become attuned (connected) to the Reiki healing energy, you will quickly realize that Reiki is more than a healing system: It is a spiritual way of life. Diane supports and guides her students both and during after the classes. Monthly Reiki Circles are offered which allow students to work with the public. Reiki Practitioner Shares are offered as are Reiki workshops. River of Light students received discounted healing sessions and may repeat Reiki classes at a discounted rate. Students are matched up to their areas of interest when choosing a Reiki lineage. Every class is unique, for Diane allows conversations to unfold during the class which unveil the needs and interests of the students.
Most classes are taught over two days which allows a slower pace, and more time to integrate the Reiki energy and wisdom. Students have one week before the second class, which allows time to practice and accumulate questions. The second day allows for more practice time, as well as reviewing and completing newly acquired skills.
